It’s Wednesday and we all know what that means… Comic Book day! Yaaayyy!
With that said I can’t think of a better gallery to put up than this one. It’s the Kotobukiya Superman PVC statue. With all the love Batman has gotten over the years it’s good to see everyone’s favorite Last Kryptonian get a statue from Kotobukiya.
Gotta love customs. And when I mean customs I don’t mean the cool things like toy customs like those awesome Kamen Rider human heads for the Kamen Rider Medicom. I mean the customs that cruelly holds on to our toys before we can get our grubby hands on them. Yep, talking about good ‘old U.S. Customs. Still, I’m glad I got my stuff -even if I should have had it a week ago!
One of the things I’m glad came is the Hot Toys Superman diorama’s. They look incredible up close and was surprised by how hard the plastic was. It was easy to put together. It’s amazing what a great job Hot Toys did with nailing the likeness of Superman actor Brandon Routh. Honestly it’s insane how great these things look yet the more expensive DC Direct stuff doesn’t even look half as good. *sigh*
Anyway before I burn a bridge so far high Rao could see it I’ll just move on. With that said please feel free to click on the gallery below.
Well this figure is finally up! I’ve had this piece on my shelf for a while but haven’t had the chance to work on it until just recently. I was kinda surprised to see this one released so soon after it was announced at the end of 2006 but hey, I’ve got no problem with that. This 1/6 was a joy to work on and I hope you all take the time to take a look at this gallery.
I know what you’re thinking – Where’s the Medicom Clark Kent? To that I say *patience*! All in due time, after all we’re not just a 1/6 site now are we?
Well I said I’d be back didn’t I? Well I can’t very well spend all this money on Superman 1/6 figures without having SOME opinion about them (just an FYI – I buy multiple figs. I do that for virtually everything I collect). I always planned on having a page like this the moment I heard that several companies were going to take their shot at a Superman Returns 12″. Well I finally got the Medicom so now I was able to put this page together.
As for why I’ve done this it’s fairly simple. I haven’t seen anyone else do it, at least like this. Lots of Batman comparisons with all the Batman Begins dolls out there but not many for Superman. Hence forth here is this page. It visually breaks down each figure, why visual? Well nine times out of ten pictures tend to speak for themselves, why ruin it with tons of sarcasm and bad puns? That Doesn’t mean that I don’t give a brief rundown of each one however. I definitely have an opinion on all three.

More powerful than a…. Nevermind. Well it took me long enough but I finally got it (as if there would ever be any doubt). I didn’t know what to expect since the buzz on this wasn’t that good. It hasn’t been good since the first image of it came out months ago. Out of all the three 1/6 scale dolls (ok ok – FOUR if you include the Ken Doll version) the Medicom release generates the most opinions. I have my own feelings on this doll and I’ll express those next time.
However to the business at hand here is the Superman Returns Medicom gallery.
Well it’s my pleasure to bring to you one of my favorite 1/6 scale figures ever. I finally got my hands on a Hot Toys Superman Returns figure. It’s from their Movie Masterpeice series and trust me it’s a great addition to anyones collection!
Ok I swear to GOD I will have something cool to post on that isn’t Superman related. I’ll post a really cool gallery this week but since its Monday I’ll start you off with a little Superman action. Anyway here is the Takara Superman from their Microman line. It’s based off the one from Superman Returns. As you’d expect it’s fun and posable. It was hard to find one with a clean “S” on his chest as a majority of them have scratches and nicks and what not on them. Still I’m glad I was able to grab a good one.
If there was one difficulty in doing this gallery it was taking the photos. I deleted a lot of blurry images believe me. Still it took a while to get it down to where I got clear and crisp shots of him. Anyway click the image and enjoy the gallery of the Superman Returns Microman.
