FIGMA x GANTZ: Hot Gantzer Reika to Join FIGMA ranks..


Max Factory has just announced on their Figma Blog that they are developing a Figma of GANTZ Heroine Reika for release as a special pack in for Vol.26 LE of GANTZ. Scheduled to be released in June of 2009, Yeah that's awhile from now but hell we're Getting GANTZ figures!!! How Fucking Awesome is that!!! From the pics it looks like Reika will at least include an X-Gun and GANTZ Sword as well as various posing hands.

Hopefully Max Factory will make a few more GANTZ Figures like Kurono, Katou, Izumi, Kishimoto among others but if we get those 4 including Reika I'll be totally satisfied. We should also get some of the aliens to fight with the GANTZers but I won't hold my breath. Check out the Prototype Reika in the pics below.

BM PROJECT: I'll Keep Looking For It, Together With My Gundam


Bandai has finally unveiled what one of the main reasons for starting the BM line of 1/6 figures, To do 1/6 figures of characters from Gundam series of course! To celebrate the launch of their new Tamashii webshop Bandai is offering a very special Exclusive for all you Gundam 00 fans!! a 1/6 BM Figure of our Main Hero Setsuna F. Seiei!! Setsuna will be a web exclusive and will be ready for online orders between the dates of July 29, 2008 - September 3, 2008. Price is set at 17,640yen and he will ship in September. Although it's not insanely short, it's Not a very long window either, so any of you guys or gals who want to add Setsuna to your 1/6 collection should jump on this ASAP before the window passes.

Does this mean we'll get all 4 Gundam Meisters?? If anything I wonder if we'll get Setsuna (Age 21) Season 2 version announcement to coincide with the highly anticipated premiere of 00 Season 2?? My only complaint will be that it seems that Season 1 Setsuna uses the standard RAH301 Body which will make the season 2 version out of scale is they were to do it, unless this Setsuna will be a bit shorter when he's released. I really don't want the 2 Setsunas to be the same height. Anyway I sure hope we see more Gundam characters soon and not just 00 but from all Gundam series. This announcement has open the door to many possibilities. I knew it was inevitable we would get BM Gundam characters eventually. With so many Great licenses under Bandai's belt the possiblities for the future of BM are endless and Gundam is a Bandai Staple so I am sure we can expect BIG things from BM in the future.

Setsuna will be available for preorder beginning on the 29th of this month at the official Tamashii site, here!

Tendou @ The Theater: Tendou just saw The DARK KNIGHT (ダークナイト) at the Midnight showing in his local theater and...


It was FUCKING AWESOME. Now I am normally not a Batman fan but Man this Movie Kicked So Much Ass that I even feel compelled to write about it. If you have not seen this movie yet, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go see it as soon as you can cause definetly if you plan on seeing only one movie this summer then make this the movie to see. I can't even begin to describe the greatness of this film. The Complexity, the acting, the screenplay, the strong themes, the mood, hell even the Soundtrack Kicked Ass and to top it all off I normally don't care about Batman that much. I only thought Batman Begins was a pretty good movie and was expecting the Dark Knight to be just a notch above but man who knew that I would be blown away so much!!! The Dark Knight is Leaps and Bounds and Universes above it's predecessor. It was everything a sequel should be and MORE, A WHOLE LOT FUCKING MORE. Oh My God I don't even know where to begin. If you have not seen it yet and you're a fan of Comic book films, then you really need to go and make time to see it.

The only thing is now, if Nolan plans to do a third film I am really not sure how he could possibly top this one and I really don't know what villain he could use next that can even touch the portrayal of Joker in this film. The Joker in this film was just Perfect, the Best rendition of Joker ever PERIOD, Comic, Cartoon, Film it doesn't matter. Ledger plays a Complete Anarchist who loves to see people in pain with absolutely no moral limitations whatsoever. It''s all the Best Jokers over the years fused together and refined. He plays it so convincingly well with great character and charisma. Such a dominant and charismatic villain that I am not sure it can possibly be topped and that's saying a lot cause I normally don't care for Joker much as a character at all and always found him too gimmicky and silly for the most part but this movie has really changed my perception. Aside from the unrivaled Joker performance the Rest of the Movie is Incredible as well. I would go as far as to say that the plot and character relationships in this film make it the most complex and ambitious Comic Book movie ever. There is so much going on and you'd think that normally, having so much go on at once would make for a disaster of a film but they make it work really well. Hell they make it a masterpiece. The themes are very strong and are expressed very solid throughout the film which is very important and makes the film that much better.

The reviews were overwhelmingly positive but I always just kinda assumed that it was because everyone are such huge Batman and Joker fans and that people just love Batman Begins and would naturally love the sequel. I really didn't know what to expect and I went in without much expectation and now I am just speechless at how great a film it was.

Man enough of me talking, you just gotta go see it.

BM News: Who is ZERO??


It's a bit late I know but for those of you who don't follow BM Project has revealed more detailed images of Lelouch as Zero based on his new look from the 2nd season Code Geass R2.The images look great and out of all the Medicom announcements this month I am most excited about this one. Zero wil be released in September and will retail for 16,800yen. All you Code Geass fans don't forget to watch the Premiere of Code Geass R2 Next Sunday April 6, 2008!!!

MEDICOM News: No Matter What You Always Gotta Have 20,000yen In Your Wallet At All Times.

Fan Favorite Actor Odagiri Joe is finally Immortalized in beautiful 1/6 scale form!!! Based on his famous role in Popular Detective Drama Jikou Keisatsu (Time Limit Detective) Kiriyama Shuuichiro (Played by Odagiri Joe) is a detective that has an interest in solving unsolved cases that are past the statute of limitations. A past time that he does without permission for his own uncovering of the truth. The Kiriyama 1/6 figure appears with his signature hairstyle, police uniform and even includes an inscale "I Won't Tell Anyone" Card. He is joined by a figure of the female lead of the show Mikazuki Shizuka who was played by Popular actress Asou Kumiko. This way you can have Kiriyama and Mikazuki solving cases together! Both figures will be available in July '08 for the price of 15,540yen (tax included)

As this is one of my favorite shows expect to see a gallery of them both at some point!

One of the Hottest recent figure releases from MAX Factory and the 4th figure in their Kinu Nishimura Collection. Originally released as a Resin Kit (Aren't they all?) This Mai based on Nishimura Kinu's Artwork has definetly wowed many fans despite having so many different figures in the market. Safe to say, Mai Has become a staple in collections of Video Game Heroines. To Be Honest I've never been a huge fan of this particular artwork of Mai but The Sculptor Hamasaki Takeshi has done an incredible job bringing the illustration to life at the same time adding that special "touch" that has won me over. Now I'm all about this version, Enjoy checking one of the Finest Mai Figures released in years.

Then the news of this new base body is revealed and who's the first figure in the Line? None other than The Iconic Ayanami Rei herself!!! More details of this body will certainly be revealed at Wonderfest this weekend!! The details will of course be posted here!

MEDICOM News: The WORST is Yet to Come..


With the growing popularity of one of Japan's Most Badass Gangsta manga, Medicom has decided to follow up the releases with 3 more of the Top Badasses in the CROWS x WORST series!

First up is the Main Character of CROWS Our Hero BOUYA HARUMICHI



Next Up is one of the Most Badass of all Crows BITOU RYUYA!!



And Finally is another fan favorite!! Straight from the TFOA!! TOP BADASS KAWACHI TESSHO!!!! Sadly there is no press picture of him yet but he was on display at Medicom's recent exhibition. Here is a pic of him for your reference. It's not the RAH but I'm betting that Medicom will not let all of us CROWS fans wait for too long!!!



All these figures will retail for the Price of 12800yen. Harumichi and Ryuya will be released in December and Tessho, we don't have the details for yet. GLAM has implied that we'll be getting alternate versions of Harumichi and Ryuya which if the GLAM shop versions of Ryushin and Kousei are of any indication will be the epitome of Badass.

MEDICOM x BANDAI News:BM Unleashes the POWER of the KING


Finally!!! This past week Medicom has been unveiling and displaying all their upcoming releases at their Exhibition, One of them is one is probably one of the Biggest 1/6 announcements of the year!!! BM Project (Bandai and Medicom collaboration) has annouced and confirmed the rumor of CODE GEASS (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ) 1/6 figures!!!!! First up is of course our Main Man Lelouch!!! No Price or release date has been announced yet but this is SUPER EXCITING news for HUGE fans of Code Geass like myself!!!! Lelouche was on display at the show. I am assuming he will include 2 different heads. One normal and one with Geass Activated. I can't wait to see what other Characters are in the works!!!!.

Medicom has just unveiled pics of the 2 Special Mail Away figures for the New #1 ver.2.0 coming out this September!! New #2 and Hongou Takeshi (Later Series ver.)!!! New #2 comes with additional , helmet, scarves and gloves to make Any of the 6 SHOCKER Riders!!! Looks like all the Diehards will have to buy 7 of them to make all the SHOCKER Riders and have New #2!!! Hongou is pimped out in his look for the last part of the TV series when he returns as Kamen Rider New #1!!!! Release for Shocker Rider and Hongou will be March of 2008 and Prices will be 19800yen for New #2 and 10290yen for Hongou, Tax is included for both. New #1 2.0 will be released this September for 17640yen (Tax included) you'll need his ticket to order New #2 and Hongou.

MEDICOM News: Yusaku Matsuda returns to Medicom


Making this update was tough, Knowing that many of the readers on this site may not know the greatness of Yusaku Matsuda I was about to take it upon myself to write a whole essay on him but then I remembered that someone had already said everything that I wanted to say and gave some insight one of the Greatest Men who ever lived. Maybe after reading this update you may all know a little more about an actor named Yusaku Matsuda.

"To gauge the impact and enduring popularity of Yusaku Matsuda in Japan, one need only walk into a Tokyo bookstore. In the cinema section, at least half a shelf will be taken up by photo books, essays, tributes and biographies of the late actor. Toyshops stock action figures and dolls, both vintage and new, based on his best-loved characters. In the numerous second-hand video stores of the Jimbocho area, it's easy to pick out Matsuda's films among the thousands of brightly coloured boxes: his are the ones that are twice as expensive as everything else.

Yusaku Matsuda is a phenomenon. His early death in 1989 at the age of forty has given him the kind of idolised immortality that the rest of the world bestows upon the likes of James Dean, Steve McQueen and Bruce Lee. The comparison with these giants is valid in more ways than one. Matsuda had a bit of all three: looks, acting range, cool machismo and a flair for action. "

About 5 yrs ago Medicom released one of the most stylish Medicom figures of our decade. The figure was one of Yusaku Matsuda most pivotal roles Shunsaku Kudo from Legendary TV series Tantei Monagatari (Detective Story) 2 versions were released, One default and ther the Final Episode version. There was also a Rolex shop exclusive version of the default. This November Medicom plans to release 2 new 1/6 figures of 2 of Yusaku Matsuda's other most memorable roles. The first one is Matsuda as Cool Antihero Tetsuya Asakura from the 1979 Hard Boiled film noir Yomigaeru Kinrou (Ressurrection of the Golden Wolf) This Matsuda 1/6 is decked out in his Biker suit from the climax of the film and includes his sunglasses, Knife, Slingshot and Handgun. Asakura is ready to kill his way to the top! The second Figure is based on another of Matsuda's memorable Film Noir roles as the War Torn Journalist Kunihiko Date from the 1980 film Yaju Shisubeshi (The Beast Must Die). Date comes with his handgun and hat from the film.

Both figures feature Authentic Likeness to Matsuda and are dressed and fitted to exact details of how he portrayed the characters in the films. Both figures will be available in November for the price of 20,790yen each (Tax Included) Can a 2.0 of Matsuda as Shunsaku Kudo be far off?? As a HUGE fan of Matsuda these are a Must for me. I can't wait to display them next to my old Shunsaku Kudo!!

ART OF WAR News: The Strongest Warrior Appears!!!


ART OF WAR Maker of fine Berserk statues for about 10 years now has decided to celebrate their 10th Anniversary by FINALLY unveiling photos of their MOST IMPRESSIVE, MOST ANTICIPATED Statue to date, The Knight of Skeleton or simply the SkullKnight Horse Riding Figure II. Originally announced for preorder to open Late Last Year it was of course delayed due to the Complexity and Ambition of capturing one of the Most Visually Impressive Characters in the Berserk Universe, This will be the second time that the Skullknight has been made with his horse but the difference is that this time he will be in full 1/10 scale like the majority of the line. The previous statue of SK on his horse was 1/15 scale and was significantly smaller. This is the statue that many fans have dreamed of owning ever since the release of the first Berserk Statue 10 years ago, now it will finally be realized. Of course all Great Things come with a Great Price and This Beautiful statue is no exception. At 60,000yen before tax ( approximately $494 USD) This is the Most Expensive Berserk Statue to date significantly topping even Zodd Senma at 50,000yen.

SkullKnight will be Limited to only 300 Pieces and Preorder Bonus will include an alternate Sword in Yobimizu no Tsurugi form and Resident of Qliphoth statue. Preorder starts on AOW site this week on May 25 at 11:00am Japan time. SkullKnight's dimensions are (including the base): 35 cm (Height), 42 cm (Width) and 35cm (Depth). The Price will be 60,000yen Before Tax (About $494 USD)

Being a Huge Berserk Fan I've been a bit bleh With all the lackluster releases by AOW lately. Needless to say I'm Ecstatic to finally see one that I consider not only impressive but their Most Impressive work to date. I will definetly be ordering 2 of these beauties for myself!!! BANDAI News: SIC updates


As I reported awhile back SIC 38 will be None other than Kikaider 01 with Double Machine, the proto was not colored back then and only grey proto pics exist well Bandai has finally released their bigger sized Colored product pics of SIC 38. Judging from the pics below this will probably one of the Finest SIC releases to date!!

SIC 39 will be G3 and G4 of Kamen Rider Agito fame, No pics yet of that one but stay tuned..

BANDAI News:And MG100 is...


TURN A TURN TURN A TURN TURN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Yeah I know the news is a couple of days old but better late than never right? The show is over and Well needless to say The fandom is very mixed. Some love, some like it some don't care for it, Many Hate it. I'm pretty imapartial, it's not like it's the end of the MG line so even if I was mad I still have many other kits to look forward to. As for Turn A it makes perfect sense. Not only because the DVD box is coming out so soon but also because Turn A represents the "full circle" of Gundam to Tomino. It's kinda like the Cherry on top of a sundae. Sure fans Hate the design but I'd say making Turn A the #100 is more a nod to the Gundam Mythos rather than just making another Popular MG. All in al if you're a Turn A fan (If any of the 7 of you are reading this) you all have a LOT to be excited about. This Turn A will be the Finest Turn A ever made easily destroying the Old 1/100, 1/144, Titanium and MSIA put together. Now that we have a Turn A, does that mean a Turn X is not far behind??

Hokuto No Ken Fans rejoice!!! First we got a series of full length movies, then we got a Funeral to honor one of our most beloved characters and Now we get the Ultimate Kenshiro in 1/6 scale!!!! Yes that's right, Medicom has teamed up with the Great talents at Kaiyodo to Bring us one of the Greatest 1/6 figures ever produced!!!! This Kenshiro will feature an all new Modified Body to match the proportions of our hero. As with all Medicom release Ken will be made with Highest Attention to detail and produced with the highest quality materials. All the Articulation and detail you'd expect from the Ultimate Toy Collaboration on this planet!!! Looks at that suit!!! That Jacket!!! That Expression!!! This is surely going to be One of the Greatest 1/6 figures ever made!! Judging from the pictures Kenshiro also appears to be based on the design from the recent Shin Kyūseishu Densetsu films series. I am Praying that Raoh and other characters are coming.

Kenshiro will be released this November for the Price of 18000yen.

GOOD SMILE COMPANY News: An Alliance of figure heaven is made.


What can be better than buying a figure of an attractive dual katana weilding girl wearing a sailor fuku with a drama CD that has her voice and theme song? Good Smile Company and RED have teamed up to bring you Shuraki, a series of 1/8 scale PVC statues that include a drama CD and a special booklet with illustrations and background info on the character. The idea is a bit Queen's Blade-ish in the sense that each heroine will be designed by a well known Bishoujo artist. The first in the line up will be Akatsuki with her Sailor Fuku and Dual Katanas, she seems to have all the making of a popular heroine. Her accessories will of course be her weapons but she will also feature removable clothing to exchange with a battle damaged Sailor Fuku!!! Akatsuki will also include a Drama CD with an original Drama and original theme song. Ami Koshimizu of AIKa (Agent Aika) and Code Geass (Karen) fame is cast as the voice of Akatsuki in the CD drama. A 24 page booklet featuring illustrations, info and stats on the Akatsuki herself will also be included. No release date or price has been given yet but as soon as it's announced you can bet I'll report it here!

GOOD SMILE COMPANY News: Best Friends??

Announced this past Wonderfest, all fans knew that GSC Was going to be adding Death Note to the ranks of the growing Nendoroid army. Finally fans have been treated with new clear promotion photos of Nendoroid Yagami Light and Ryuk. Light will include 3 different facial expressions (Neutral, Smile and Scheming), his Death Note, his Pen, different arms for different poses and the handcuffs that he and L shared (Does this Mean that L Nendoroid is coming?) Ryuk includes His Death Note, 2 apples (Eaten and Uneaten), Optional posing parts and 2 different expressions. Both will be released July in Japan for the price of 3000yen. I bet fans will enjoy displaying these 2 "best friends" together in different scenarios. I have a feeling Misa Misa and L are next to join the Nendoroid army.. All Hail KIRA!!!

BANDAI News: Your Cosmo is Strong...

I have to say with all the incredible stuff coming out, It's a Great time to be a Saint Seiya fan!! Saint Cloth Myth is one of the Best Action figure lines in the market today. With their super poseability, Diecast cloths, loads of accessories and anime accurate sculpting it's like a Saint Seiya fan's dream come true!! The ultimate realization of the Saint Seiya characters!

It just happens that this month is a big month for Saint Seiya fans. BANDAI News: The Knight of the White Night appears!!

After half a year, Bandai finally gives fans the next installment in their ever popular GARO Equip and Prop line. Vol.8 will be Tsubasa Yamagatana with the title of DAN the Knight of the White Night!! Fans have been screaming for a DAN figure since he first appeared in the GARO special at the end of last year. DAN will include all the features that has made the E&P line a favorite among fans, Including tons of accessories, Incredible detail and super articulation, Options to change from Human form to Makai Knight and a special 1/1 scale prop straight from the show!! In this case the Prop will be Tsubasa's Madou Bracelet, Goruba. DAN will be released Late June of this year in Japan for the Price of 4500yen

This is a Gallery Dedicated to Friendship. Many fans have grown up with Pokemon over the years and altho many of them have grown out of it by now. MAX FACTORY Gallery: Even the girl can be the Hero..

We bring you yet another Gallery of Tokiha Mai from Mai Hime!!! This one in particular is one of my Favorite pieces as it truly shows the Growth of Mai's Character throughout the series. It's like a Final version if you could say. Mai is sculpted giving a Thumbs up with her Kamen Rider-ish scarf blowing in the air and a posture and expression that gives you that sense of hope that even after a super tough and desperate battle, the good guys are gonna win. She's Shining.

MAX FACTORY & ALTER Galleries: Nitro+'s Crimson Haired Sword Slashing Elf Goddess returns..

What did I tell you guys? Ignis is the Saber of Nitro+ and she's definetly getting a LOT of attention from the Figure companies. Hell' Orchid Seed just popped out their version!! These 2 Galleries are a bit overdue but they're here now!! Max Factory Goes for the More traditional Sultry side of Ignis while Alter Goes for the Action Battle Ready version. Both are Great and it's really tough to say which I love more.

MEDICOM Gallery: More than Demon...

Back again today with a very special gallery for all you retro manga fans! Today's subject is the Medicom Stylish collection Devilman and Akira Fudo! Most of you are probably more used to how Devilman looks today but these 1/6 scale figures immortalize the original image of that Go Nagai brought to us more than 30 years ago that many fans outside of asia probably are unaware of. These figures look like they jumped right out of the original Go Nagai manga from 1972!! Paying homage to the classics, this is quite an impressive set -_^ Go Check out the Gallery!

OK! OK! So it's not a Japanese Piece but man, you gotta admit it's impressive ^-^ This is the new 1/4 scale Iron Man Comiquette released by Sideshow Collectibles. This is also the Exclusive version with optional Tony Stark Head Which is Only available with the Exclusive. The Metallic Finish is absolutely Incredible and the overall feel and look of the statue is just WOW. This is in my opinion the BEST Iron Man statue ever done. Hell the Best Iron Man figure period! KAIYODO Gallery: I am the Man that seizes the Heavens!!!!

One of the Greatest Toys in history has a gallery here. The 200X Raoh and Kokuoh Gou ULTIMATE FINAL BOXSET has to be seen to be believed!! Ever since the introduction of the Hokuto No Ken 200X line we were all waiting for the day Kaiyodo would go all out and make us a Raoh and Kokuoh set in the 200X scale. Well our prayers have been answered!! We did this Gallery awhile back for our ase site www.hokutonokentoy.com (Check it out!) but felt that we have to give Respect to the KENOH and Spread his Legend among all the new visitors of the Newly Launched Henshin Hobby!!

There have been Many interpretations of Kasumi in the figure world. I'd have to say that even with all the Incredible ones out there this one is definetly one of my favorite. Katayama's Sculpt captures the very essence of the character, very innocent like a child, yet very sexy and feminine. Our favorite Runaway Kunoichi has been done justice. Max Factory has done an Incredible job making this Once Kit only figure a nice Completed PVC statue. It's a Hot piece, Definetly a treat for all Kasumi fans! -_^

BANDAI News: Relive Char's Counterattack on your desk!!!

Big Treat for all You Char and Amuro fans! Bandai has annouced ans shown pics of 2 upcoming pieces all you Char and Amuro fans cannot surely live without! First up is the HCM Pro RX-93 NU Gundam a follow up to the Uber Popular Sazabi HCM Pro released this past summer. The HCM Pro NU has all you would expect from this high quality 1/200 scale line. It even continues the NU Tradition and has Diecast parts!!! This is a Must buy for All Gundam fans! Release is scheduled for October 2006 and the Price is 2800yen (2940 w/tax)

Next up is the Obligatory Bandai Double dip we've all been waiting for!! A Special Painted version of the HCM Pro Sazabi!! This release will have all the goodness of the original HCM Pro Sazabi but with a New Metallic Red Finish and new markings!! Even though I own the first one, I have to admit that this one is pretty hot and that I'll definetly be picking one up. Release is scheduled for November 2006 and the Price is 4500yen (4725 w/tax)

BANDAI News: Bleach Characters gets a 4th set!

Bandai shows pictures of the 4th series of the Popular "Bleach Characters" Trading figure collection. Lineup includes Ichigo in regular and Hollow mask version, 9th Division Lt. Shūhei Hisagi, 3rd Division Lt. Izuru Kira and a new version of the ever popular Hitsugaya Toshirou (10th Division captain) unleashing his Bankai Dai Guren Hyōrinmaru!! Lineup is 5 figures which I'm guessing Bandai is being mean again and is making the 2 Ichigos separate figures even though the only difference will be the heads. Although the Ichigos have been the stars of the last 2 sets, I'm guessing Hitsugaya being the most impressive figure in the set this time around will probably be the fan's favorite -_^ Release will be in December and the retail for each figure will be 550yen and boxes of 8 will go for 4400yen

BANDAI News: Black Sun! New Pics!

Bandai has just revealed new Pictures of one of the Most anticipated figures of their ever expanding Souchaku Henshin series, Kamen Rider BLACK!!! Annouced a few months back, many fans have been anticipating it's release and these are are some of the Best pictures Bandai has released so far.

Black will be available in Japan shops in September for 2100yen (tax included) with Shadowmoon and Black RX to follow soon. In the meantime check out the pics below!

Today, we have a very special gallery for you. Many Gunslinger Girl fans have been waiting for some nice figures to come out and Good smile Company has granted that wish. Standing in a very cute and innocent pose, Henrietta strolls with a shy glance holding her viola behind her and SIG Sauer P239 handgun. Henrietta is in 1/8 scale and captures the very innocent childlike side of the character and also giving us a glance at the assassin side of the character as well. KOTOBUKIYA Gallery: SERA-Chan SDCC Exclusive

I told you guys I'd put up a San Diego Comic Con Exclusive Item didn't I? Well I have a real beauty for you guys, I have Sera-Chan sculpted by the uber talented Shunya Yamashita. It's an original design by Mr. Yamashita and the black shirt varient is what was sold at SDCC last month. Only 1000 of these were made.
