KOTOBUKIYA Gallery: Date Masamune Gallery
Sure the real life guy is controversial; some admire him while others take issue with him but he's one dominant and important figure in Japanese history.
However this version from Kotobukiya (based from the Basara series from Capcom) is one uber badass fighter/general who has one hell of a cool look to him. He's a great PVC statue but man I wish he was a little bit bigger in size (which keeps to the Koto rule of thumb of bigger statue for female characters, which is a plus but for male characters they tend to be smaller which does suck if you like to have some from the same series in the same scale... but we've been through that).

Anyway here is one we just did of a one-sixth Rei Ayanami and it's one of the nicest ones I've seen. Rei gets all the good stuff even after all these years. She always gets nice merchandise and this one is no exception and I like this statue a lot. Yeah there have been plenty of nice ones in the past but there is no such thing as too many nice Rei statues (same goes for Chun Li and Mai Shiranui).

KOTOBUKIYA Gallery: Been a Long Time Coming...
But we finally have Belldandy.here. Not that we don't have enough Belldandy in the toy stash of Henshin Hobby but we've never put this lovely icon on the site. It's been years since I first saw this on VHS and this piece gives me a certain sense of nostalgia before bills, work, stress. You know all the grown up crap we have to deal with.
Regardless I enjoyed working on the pix of this statue. Hopefully we'll put more Belldandy stuff up. Until then enjoy the gallery.

One of the Hottest recent figure releases from MAX Factory and the 4th figure in their Kinu Nishimura Collection. Originally released as a Resin Kit (Aren't they all?) This Mai based on Nishimura Kinu's Artwork has definetly wowed many fans despite having so many different figures in the market. Safe to say, Mai Has become a staple in collections of Video Game Heroines. To Be Honest I've never been a huge fan of this particular artwork of Mai but The Sculptor Hamasaki Takeshi has done an incredible job bringing the illustration to life at the same time adding that special "touch" that has won me over. Now I'm all about this version, Enjoy checking one of the Finest Mai Figures released in years.

KOTOBUKIYA NEWS: "I've Waited a Long Time for This, My Little Green Friend."
Emperor Palpatine is my hero. He's my favorite character in the whole Star Wars Saga. He's the smartest person in the whole thing and he's awesomely evil. He's fun to watch and quite frankly the ultimate example of how evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
Anyway, the uber talented folks at Kotobukiya are at it again and this time with an Emperor vs. Yoda PVC statue. I've seen it in person and it's incredible. There is an annoyingly small amount of merchandise out there for Emperor Palpatine and I'm glad to see Kotobukiya do something for Palpy (you know, the main villain of the whole thing).
We weren't able to take any pictures of him and Yoda but we are able to talk about it. So here is a sketch of what it looks like. You can tell via the incredible artistry shown (eat your heart out Picasso) that this will be an action packed release. Needless to say we will put up a proper picture when one becomes available.

After months of teasing, we finally have info and the first pics of Kotobukiya's Master Chief PVC figure kit. It'll retail for 9800 Yen ($83) and measures in at 300mm, or 11 3/4 inches tall! Even better he comes with at least two optional weapons, double-wielding Magnums or the ever-popular Energy Sword! I'm sure details for US release will be available shortly. Personally as a Halo-fan, this piece is a must get!

I was originally going to call this "It's only gay if you make eye contact" but after talking to my fellow reviewer (and photographer) Tendou, he told me that it probably wasn't a good idea. Of course if you're familiar with the roaring estrogen torrent that is the Yaoi Fan Girl Community, then you know that title would have been more than appropriate. But the chosen title works well enough, and as for all the imagined or unimagined double entendre that comes with these two characters, I'll leave that can of worms alone.
What we have here are one-eighth scale PVC statues of Shinji and Kaworu (with nifty NERV stand) from the universally popular Shin Seiki Evangelion/Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series from the mid-90s. I may be in the minority, but I like Shinji. Yeah, you heard me: I'm a fan of Shinji Ikari. In fact, he's the main reason I'm reviewing this. While he's the most frustrating guy to watch on screen, I can easily say that he's been treated unfairly from day one. At his worst he's not fun to watch but you can't blame him. Then there's Kaworu Nagisa, who is by far the most popular male in the show, and it can be argued (to a certain degree) that he's the second-most popular character in the whole series behind Rei Ayanami.

GOOD SMILE COMPANY News: An Alliance of figure heaven is made.
What can be better than buying a figure of an attractive dual katana weilding girl wearing a sailor fuku with a drama CD that has her voice and theme song? Good Smile Company and RED have teamed up to bring you Shuraki, a series of 1/8 scale PVC statues that include a drama CD and a special booklet with illustrations and background info on the character. The idea is a bit Queen's Blade-ish in the sense that each heroine will be designed by a well known Bishoujo artist. The first in the line up will be Akatsuki with her Sailor Fuku and Dual Katanas, she seems to have all the making of a popular heroine. Her accessories will of course be her weapons but she will also feature removable clothing to exchange with a battle damaged Sailor Fuku!!! Akatsuki will also include a Drama CD with an original Drama and original theme song. Ami Koshimizu of AIKa (Agent Aika) and Code Geass (Karen) fame is cast as the voice of Akatsuki in the CD drama. A 24 page booklet featuring illustrations, info and stats on the Akatsuki herself will also be included. No release date or price has been given yet but as soon as it's announced you can bet I'll report it here!

GOOD SMILE COMPANY News: Best Friends??
Announced this past Wonderfest, all fans knew that GSC Was going to be adding Death Note to the ranks of the growing Nendoroid army. Finally fans have been treated with new clear promotion photos of Nendoroid Yagami Light and Ryuk. Light will include 3 different facial expressions (Neutral, Smile and Scheming), his Death Note, his Pen, different arms for different poses and the handcuffs that he and L shared (Does this Mean that L Nendoroid is coming?) Ryuk includes His Death Note, 2 apples (Eaten and Uneaten), Optional posing parts and 2 different expressions. Both will be released July in Japan for the price of 3000yen. I bet fans will enjoy displaying these 2 "best friends" together in different scenarios. I have a feeling Misa Misa and L are next to join the Nendoroid army.. All Hail KIRA!!!

We bring you yet another Gallery of Tokiha Mai from Mai Hime!!! This one in particular is one of my Favorite pieces as it truly shows the Growth of Mai's Character throughout the series. It's like a Final version if you could say. Mai is sculpted giving a Thumbs up with her Kamen Rider-ish scarf blowing in the air and a posture and expression that gives you that sense of hope that even after a super tough and desperate battle, the good guys are gonna win. She's Shining.

What did I tell you guys? Ignis is the Saber of Nitro+ and she's definetly getting a LOT of attention from the Figure companies. Hell' Orchid Seed just popped out their version!! Today, we got the photographer to take pictures of one of my favorite PVC statues of my all time favorite characters, Rei and Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Not that you guys wouldn't know who they are, they are quite iconic after all. ^-^

There have been Many interpretations of Kasumi in the figure world. I'd have to say that even with all the Incredible ones out there this one is definetly one of my favorite. Katayama's Sculpt captures the very essence of the character, very innocent like a child, yet very sexy and feminine. Our favorite Runaway Kunoichi has been done justice. Max Factory has done an Incredible job making this Once Kit only figure a nice Completed PVC statue. It's a Hot piece, Definetly a treat for all Kasumi fans! -_^

KAIYODO Gallery: Chaos Gate has opened!! BOME Vol.13- Ignis
Another Gallery!!! This time it's the lovely Ignis from popular pc game Jingai Makyo. This is the BOME rendition and thus is part of the popular Bome Collection from Kaiyodo. Ignis is vol.13, She's been out in Japan for a month or two now but just released here in the states last week via Diamond for the low price of $24.99 as opposed to the Orig JP SRP of 4500yen.
Ignis is quite the popular gal these days with every figure maker popping out their own versions before the end of the year. This is not surprising as you can see that Ignis is quite a looker. MEGAHOUSE News: Tsukasa's Next Bullet..
With the success Jun Tsukasa has been having drawing hot females, it's no doubt many figure makers will be eager to represent his artwork in Figure form. Almost like an unofficial follow up to the extremely sought after Koyori figure (from Sengoku Cannon) last year Megahouse takes it up a notch with 2 new figures based on Tsukasa Jun's artwork!! Mizuki and Mariko Imai are both based on Artwork from Tsukasa's Illustration book "Tsukasa Bullet", Numbered TB-01 and TB-02 respectively. Both figures are part of the Excellent Model CORE line like Koyori was and both seem to also have Koyori's "special feature" judging from the pics (more on that as soon as pics are available) Man these are sure to be as HOT as Koyori and are a MUST for fans of Tsukasa's work, Let's hope they do more soon!!
Both girls are coming out this November for the price of 5000yen each and will be in 1/8 scale. Only a couple more months til we can add them to our collection. Well for now check them out at the pic below.>

Henrietta is in 1/8 scale and captures the very innocent childlike side of the character and also giving us a glance at the assassin side of the character as well. KOTOBUKIYA Gallery: SERA-Chan SDCC Exclusive
I told you guys I'd put up a San Diego Comic Con Exclusive Item didn't I? Well I have a real beauty for you guys, I have Sera-Chan sculpted by the uber talented Shunya Yamashita. It's an original design by Mr. Yamashita and the black shirt varient is what was sold at SDCC last month. Only 1000 of these were made.
