Sideshow News: Nope. Sideshow PF Bruce Lee Gallery Won't Be on This Site.

Sorry.

There isn't going to be a Gallery of the Sideshow Premium Format Bruce Lee. The images are out and well I've got better things to spend money on.

Really, who here is surprised? Honestly who thought this was going to be great? In a scale of 1/10 it's a six. I was expecting a seven maybe eight from Sideshow but it's actually lower than my expectation (it's a shame Bruce Lee isn't some fictional Marvel character because I guarantee you they would have gotten him right then).

As it is now it doesn't look much like him. It doesn't look like Dragon Lee or Bruce Li or any other Bruce Clone I can think of either (FYI - it's all about Dragon Lee in clone department. Bruce Li is the Tom Welling of the Bruce Lee clone community. Looks great but stiff and boring as hell).

You're better off buying an ENTERBAY Bruce or if you're on a budget getting the MEDICOM Bruce (which is a damn great 1/6). Save your money.

Here are two high res images of the Sideshow Bruce Premium Format. I cropped out the body to just show you the head because if the head doesn't look good then the rest is doesn't really matter now does it?

Sideshow News: MORTALLLL KOMBAA.... Sorry, Logo Threw Me Off.

Hey you look at that logo and tell me you weren't thinking Mortal Kombat. Anyway, looks like Sideshow will do a Premium Format of the legendary Bruce Lee.

Funny story about that.

Last year at SDCC I noticed that Sideshow put the Medicom Bruce Lee on display which caught my interest. After all, I had just posted my review of the Medicom Bruce a few weeks before so naturally I was curious. I went to a rep and asked him about it.

He had no idea what I was talking about.

All of a sudden the Bruce Medicom wasn't on display. He had no idea there was a Bruce there. I asked him where it was and he had no idea. As far as he was concerned he had (say it with me) no idea it was even put out (which I'm sure is the case as it's always Medicom or Hot Toys who set the non-SST items up at a show and not the SST staff). Anyway he said he didn't know about a 1/6 Bruce but did mention a PF Bruce. He had that look of "crap, I shouldn't have said that" on his face and I asked him point blank about it and he was mum really fast from that point on.

So I knew there was a PF Bruce coming down the pike from SST for a while now but no ones seen or heard anything about it. But finally last night there was a teaser of a PF Bruce. The first thing that came to mind other than Mortal Kombat (and a Shaw Brothers poster) is Arnie Kim. Honestly in this day and age it's hard to NOT think of him when it comes to sculptured Bruce's. He is the definitive Bruce Lee sculptor.

Whatever Sideshow has in mind I hope they aim high and get their best guy/people on this because ENTERBAY has set the Bruce Lee bar absurdly high.

ENTERBAY News: Never Slap A Chinese Guy in the Face...

No, not something I'd recommend and especially not to this guy.

ENTERBAY has had this pic for a while on their site and I figure it would be good to post it here in case people haven't seen it already. I still crack up at this image. Every character Bruce played wore their emotions on their sleeves and Chen Zhen is no exception to that rule. I have a lot of questions about this release (it is my favorite Bruce movie after all so I'm beyond curious really).

I know what this Bruce SHOULD come with but who knows what the reality will be. Anyway, click below to see what an enraged Chinese man looks like.

Bruce News: A 40 Episode Chinese Drama, about Bruce?

Well honestly I heard about this a while ago but took it only as rumor. Seriously Bruce Lee related projects tend to fall through the wayside on a yearly basis (my favorite Bruce Project that didn't get made was the Stephen Chow as Bruce and Donnie Yen as Yip Man flick. Although Donnie looks to be playing Yip Man after all but that's an altogether different movie).

Now this Bruce project has a who's who of TBS Superstation Stars such as Gary Daniels, Michael Jai White, Mark Dacascos and Ray Park. And that's just people I've heard of. There's a whole crap load of guys in this movie who apparently are martial artist but I've never heard of.

Seems like it does have a budget behind it so that's one thing it has going for it (it looks like a bigger budget version of that old Fist of Fury TV series from the 90's)

From what I've seen this looks ok. There is a lot of heart in this but honestly this looks off. I mean the fighting used isn't really in the spirit of Bruce at all. Just see for yourself.

ENTERBAY News: So They're a Little Late...

Big deal. I don't think anyone really expected ENTERBAY to release both ETD Bruce in December anyway. Regardless I can't wait to get my hands on them. In the meantime ENTERBAY has put up some pics of their new BL-2 Body.

This is what they've said about it;

"THE NEW BL-2 body for ENTER THE DRAGON.

Improvement applied on the Waist and the Knee to enhance the total action movement and the beauty body line. especially while wearing the tight suit like GAM EOF DEATH or the cat suit in ENTER THE DRAGON.

ENTERBAY’s body concern on "Total Styling and Body line" instead of giving so many articulation joint to improve the action movement , therefore we deisgn to give it the minimum but reasonable articulation to make all the classic pose while look great with cloths or ever nude.

Just below that is the TV series opening which I get a big time kick out of. It's also share little in common with it's manga counterpart but whatever, apples and oranges. Both are good."

Bruce News: So THAT'S What the Bonus Outfit Looks Like...

And it's exactly as I felt it would look which is a good thing. Overall these images look great and get me more and more excited about this release. It's hard to tell what exactly is different with the proposed new body. I can't tell from these images. Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep speculating on this new BL-2 body.

Visually however it's so far, so good.

Enjoy the pics below.

ENTERBAY News: Finally! Some Images!!

To absolutely no ones shock these look incredible. The images do show you what facial expressions both Bruce one-sixth will come with so besides looking awesome the images are also infromative. These babies should be out within six weeks so count those pennies or start making budget cuts (your friends and family don't really need all those gifts do they?)

Of course just like the images say, the final products could differ from the ones shown.

Doesn't mean I can't get a little excited tho'.

ENTERBAY News: The Dragon is in the Details

The news on this broke out just recently but I wanted to wait until we've gotten some more detailed info and well, here it is. Below are images including one that tells us what the bonus pieces are for both versions of these highly anticipated one-sixth.

The big news is that the bonus part for FIGURE A comes with boxing gloves and the outfit he wore in the beginning of the ETD movie where he fought a young Samo Hung. It's a nice bonus that would make it hard for people to choose which figure version they want.

Take a gander below and soak it all in.

ENTERBAY Gallery: Bruce Lee, Way of the Dragon 猛龍過江 (aka the movie Chuck Norris got his ass kicked in).

"Tang Lung! Always Tang Lung!!"

The "always Tang Lung!!" line is a great and old in joke between Tendou and myself. Whenever I feel the need to whine about someone I usually pull out a "Tang Lung!!" line.

Onto the matter on hand we've had this Bruce for a while. It's just taken us a while to get around to shooting him. Finally we were able to get this done and quite frankly I think it turned out great. You would think after 700+ images and three galleries of Bruce Lee we'd be a little wary of the next Enterbay release.

To that I say no. Not even close.

Anyway please enjoy this offering from Henshinhobby.com.

Gallery Teaser: Is that Tang Lung?

Yea it is what you think it is.

Expect a gallery of him to turn up soon. It's coming along very smoothly. You think we'd be "Bruce'd Out" by now but now really.

Not yet anyway.

VIDEO Gallery: Enterbay Game of Death...

Here's another video gallery. It's the Enterbay, Game of Death Bruce Lee. I really enjoyed working on this particular one and well, once I had the right music it all came together.

Anyone want to guess which theme it is I have playing in the background?

Anyway thank you for looking and enjoy the kick.... I mean clip!

Bruce Lee (李小龍) passed away.

My feelings feelings for Bruce are pretty well known. Heck, we have a category of just Bruce Lee on the right hand side. To keep it brief Bruce had a profound impact on my life. My Bruce Medicom review sums it up decently so I won't go into it again. However it would be a great time to reflect on his words (or you can pop-in a movie of his whichever you prefer. We all reflect in our own way).

Bruce had many quotes but this one is my favorite:

"the word 'superstar' really turns me off, and I'll tell you why because the word 'star', man.. is an illusion. It's something what the public call you."

Yep dude got it, that's why he was awesome.

Anyway other than being the cause of many, many nunchaku accidents all over the world, his influence is being felt to this very day whether its in movies or the booming popularity of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). Bruce left a huge impact on around the world, without a doubt.

Below is a nice little gem of a clip. It's the "lost" interview of Bruce Lee. A must see for every Bruce fan.

Anyway, it's Friday night in July, get out of here and enjoy the summer. I'm sure Bruce would have wanted it that way (and who am I to question him?)

Video Gallery: Bruce Lee Medicom... IN 3D!!!

Well no, not really.

But I am with something different. Ever since we did the Bruce Gallery I thought to myself, how else can we evolve the approach in what we do? Well, I decided to make a little Video Gallery of the Bruce Medicom pictures. The response for the gallery has been awesome and with this we hope we can get our name even more out there. That and it's cool to work on. Anyway true believers (what, Stan Lee is the only guy allowed to say that?!) Enjoy the show.

Review & Gallery: Bruce Lee, Enter the Dragon Medicom - 李小龍

"Mr. Lee, Why You No Wear Uniform?!"

Rites of passage.

We all go through them several times in our lives. Different things and events can trigger these moments, especially when you're a little kid. Some little kids go through it when they find out that certain heart felt truths aren't true at all. For some kids it can be something like finding out that Santa Clause isn't real. It's quite the blow for the little ones out there realizing that. For me, it was finding out that Bruce Lee was dead. Not only was he dead, but he died before I was born. It was quite sobering. I was little, watched every martial arts movie my dad was able to get with his EROLS card and to this day I remember that the first EVER VHS movie my dad ever rented was The Chinese Connection (which in reality was Fist of Fury, but you already know about that story). I was little and I saw "Bruce" everywhere. Bruce Li, Bruce Le, Dragon Lee (oh God was he awesome and terrible. He was Awerrible) and I thought the guy was in a billion movies. Needless to say I learned a lot about Bruce over time. Who he was, what he believed, what he did and what he didn't do. I even did a portrait of him for my illustration class final. It's quite obvious that his charismatic hold on me never waned.

Flash forward to October of 2006. ENTERBAY had knocked everyone out with their-then upcoming line of Bruce Lee one-sixth figures. It literally was the talk of the one-sixth community. Whether it was good, bad, overpriced, it didn't matter as the buzz on it was more than good or bad comments could smother.

ENTERBAY: Taking You Back a Few Months...

Yo!

We've got some galleries coming out soon; a Ginko, a vertically challenged white haired dude by the name of Hitsugaya, an accursed arachnid and a one-sixth that has one hell of a large gallery. I mean seriously, goddamn it's huge. Tendou and I are still working on it in fact. *sigh*

Anyway, there is also the ENTERBAY "Way of the Dragon" Bruce Lee coming out relatively soon (I'll let you guys define "relatively soon"). I thought I'd post this image that came out last year that showed several one-sixth from ENTERBAY. I wonder how much different the released versions will be to the image below...

UPDATE: The Way of the Dragon Bruce Lee is now out in HK. Hope you pre-ordered yours!

ENTERBAY Gallery: On the Contrary, I do not let the word "Death" Bother me..

Yesterday marked Bruce Lee's 66th Birthday!! This is my Dedication to him, A Gallery of one of his most accurate 1/6 figure available on the market. This took me a Long time to do but hopefully you all will like it. Bruce may be gone but he is definetly not forgotten. To this day he continues to inspire me and many others to our own self truth and liberation.

Rest Well Bruce, We all Miss you..
