Inspired by the upcoming movie Kamen Rider - THE NEXT is a jacket from Medicom based off the actual suit that the suit actors wore in said movie. It comes in various sizes and comes in at a whopping 79,800 Yen (that's 685.27 USD to you and me).
Sadly it doesn't come with a Rider Helmet :(
Price: 17,640YEN Street Date: October 2007
This has been a long time coming. Kamen Rider V3 is one of the most loved Riders ever regardless of era. He's obviously big in Japan, big in Hong Kong and pretty damn big in Hawaii. So When it was announced he was going to be in the new Kamen Rider theatrical movie everyone was pumped.
Here are some long awaited and official images from BM!. Bandai and Medicom have gone all out to reproduce the one-sixth V3 exactly as he is shown in the upcoming October 27th release of Kamen Rider - THE NEXT. From the Shocker symbol on his back to the material of the chest piece, it just goes to proves the obvious that BM go all out when it comes to Kamen Rider.
This looks to be a fantastic modernization of the suit while keeping the classic theme apparent (gotta love the double-typhoon henshin belt). And for those keeping count this is the 11th BM! release.

Awwww Yeah!
I guess you can tell I'm very excited about this piece. This is a mail away for RAH #358, Kumo Otoko. The mail away coupon for this mad mutha-kaijin comes with the previously reported Kamen Rider 3.0 Medicom (which is insanely appropriate considering Kumo Otoko was the first ever kaijin in the franchises history - and who ultimately met is demise at the hands of Kamen Rider with the classic Rider Kick.)
We first saw glimpse of him two weeks ago at the Summer WonderFest but now it's finally on Medicom's site. From what I have seen of him he looks to be a VAST upgrade over the first RAH Kumo Otoko (which is RAH #17 btw). I mean he looks incredible. Even better than the original costume (insert joke). But needless to say I can't wait to get my hands on him.
If you want one be sure to snatch him up quick since mail-aways are limited (but he won't be out for a while so you've got time to grease the hands of your favorite import dealers).
And remember....

No your eyes aren't deceiving you I had to edit this update due to one little goof. The mail away coupon that will be released with the RAH220 X - Rider are the ever stylish Apollo Geist (No.52), the C.O.S. of the Government of Darkness (G.O.D.) and Keisuke Jin.
Apollo Geist is one of my all time faves, it's hard to not see why as visually he's very impressive and one of the nicest design older villains I've seen. He's going to be a great addition to this RH220 DX line.
Also up for release is the RH220 DX (No.52) X-Rider's human form, Keisuke Jin. Looking good Keisuke!!
As always RAH220's are one-eighth scale.

Hey from a distance it looks like the Lament Configuration. So sue me.
Anyway the good people from POPBOX have brought to us a miniature replica of the "All Spark" from Transformers the movie. This cube is about the size of a rubik's cube and it does have some die cast in it. How much or "what" remains to be seen but regardless it does look very cool and it's good to see som Transformers stuff from Hong Kong.
Some info below...

Here I am, ready to turn in after drooling over things on Yahoo Japan (a boy needs his hobbies) when I get couple of cool IM's. IM's of what you ask? Well look below!
I SAID LOOK!
Pretty damn sweet huh? The first image (a surprise from this past Wonder Fest) is a new bust from Kaiyodo. IT looks to be a Raoh Gaiden version of him and the second image is of Kenshiro with Kokuoh-Go. This Kenshiro seems to be the post Raoh, end of series version (my favorite version btw).
Needless to say that the "I need to buy two" bug has bit me pretty damn hard.
I remember when certain episodes ended with the obvious death of a character and the animated characters where crying, the voice over would say "But he's ok!". I always found that funny. Anyway on to the reason for this post.
Apparently Transformers has lit a giant robot sized fire under someone's ass because now Voltron has been given the green light. I was as diehard a Voltron fan as you can get, I even liked it more than Transformers (the toys weren't as good but I liked the show more). This was announced a few days ago but I had to digest this news before had to update on it. Honestly I don't know what to think, this movie will essentially be one big Super Robot show and those are a Japanese trademark. Their hyper action, violence, tears and tons of screaming leads to hours of fun and unquestioned heroism. Good times.
I honestly don't know if an American written gattai (combining/combination) Super Robot movie can capture that Japanese style of storytelling. Some might say that Transformers was ported over just fine from its animated form. To that I say Transformers isn't a Super Robot Show, never was. The genre is seen by some in the States is that it's "too silly" to take seriously. Then again it might be all for not since they might be going for a totally different approach. For all I know they might "teen" it up with 20 something’s and American Idol rejects (and no I sincerely doubt that they will use the KING OF BEASTS original Japanese story).
Still, I am very curious, bordering in on excited when it comes to the prospects of seeing the lions combine on the big screen.
All I hope for is that Price Lotor is written as the pimp he is.

The Gintama Trading Figures are out! Released in August 2007.
I'm Gintoki fan but I think Hijikata is the best one.
They even have spoiler-Katsura figure! Even though he was like that for only one time! And Gintoki is holding that specific sword for that story arc!

If there is one staple in the Kamen Rider series it's the inclusion of a Spider-Kaijin (there have been 13 Spider-Kaijin in the franchises history). Spiders have had a pretty stellar career in Kamen Rider, they may not be anything more than the villain of the week type but the original Kumo Otoko has a bit of a cult following (as do some of the most classic kaijin).
This one right here is based off the Manga and not the television series from the now deceased Medicom Stylish Collection line. This one is a bit of a rarity since I shot this gallery myself (last time I did that was the Cyborg Superman Microman gallery). I don't shoot very often as I'm busy working on other things but this was fun to work on and since I'm a big mark for Kumo Otoko I couldn't help but take these shots myself!.
Enjoy!

This is one way to bring Friday to a close.
Here is the new, more action packed trailer of Kamen Rider - The Next. Sure the music at the end totally takes you out of the trailer but just stick with it, it's worth the torture. Kinda funny how it starts off looking like some Korean horror movie but then turns to the more familiar Rider movie we're expecting to see. Sweet trailer and I can't wait to see this one... and buy some good stuff from the movie.
Click HERE for trailer in the still GOD AWFUL real player.
*There is also a special Kamen Rider V3 Stamp (pictured below) that is given to the first 10,000 who preorder a ticket to Kamen Rider: The Next.
What? I can't be the only guy who remembers that movie.
Anyway, Warner brothers is looking to remake 'Enter the Dragon' with "Awaken the Dragon."
Tounrament based martial arts movies are a dime a dozen in the martial arts movie world yet Enter the Dragon is held pretty above the rest. While plot/dialog wise it's not Citizen Kane by any means, it's mainly elevated to legendary status due to it's charismatic star Bruce Lee (which also introduced the world the glory that is BOLO and to a lesser extent Jim Kelly's Afro). Now Warners (who distributed the original Enter the Dragon back in 1973) is looking to do a remake of the classic.
With the huge popularity of Mixed Martial Arts these days it's not really that surprising to hear a remake of the ultimate tourney movie is getting made. I'm very used to remakes and honestly I have no problem with remakes as some of my favorite movies are remakes (The Thing, The Fly, The Blob). The success of this movie really rests on the shoulders of who they cast as the star.
Here’s some some of what Variety reports:
Warner Independent Pictures has set "The Shield" exec producer Kurt Sutter to write and make his feature directing debut on "Awaken the Dragon."
"I'm a huge noir fan, and this plot lends itself to the film I want to make," Sutter said. "I wanted to set it in these underground fight clubs where the action is really raw and expose the brutality of Shaolin kung fu. This will be more 'Raging Bull' than 'Crouching Tiger' in its viciousness."
Sutter will look to discover a fight star in the role of the monk and cast an established American actor to play the FBI agent.

No one can Deny that the Revoltech line has made a big impression since it's release and many fans are adding these dynamically engineered figure works on their shelves and showcases. With over 30 figures in the Yamaguchi line and a really strong start in the non Yamaguchi line with Big names like Saber from Fate Stay/Night and Yotsuba from Yotsubato! The Revoltech craze is only getting Bigger with no signs of slowing down. Well Kaiyodo being the Toy Pioneers they are , want to up the ante even more pushing the Revoltech Technology even further.
Enter the new Revoltech Female base body, Powered by Revoltech. This new Female base is the next step for Revoltech. Utilizing the Revoltech joints to the max This new base body retains all the shape and form of the female body with the insane dynamic engineering of the Revolver Joints. Just looks at the pics, Not only does it have keep that Sexy Female form, The Revolver joints on the main body are all hidden and it can achieve super lifelike poses!!
Back at Toyfair 07 I was told by My friend at Organic that a Revoltech Rei and Asuka were in the works, After the announcements of Saber and Yotsuba I was kinda wondering if they forgot about our EVA heroines, Iasked him again a couple of weeks ago at SDCC and he just sorta smiled. Then the news of this new base body is revealed and who's the first figure in the Line? None other than The Iconic Ayanami Rei herself!!! More details of this body will certainly be revealed at Wonderfest this weekend!! The details will of course be posted here!
Yes, I'm talking about Kumo Otoko (Man-Spider). This is the first villain Kamen Rider Ever fought. EVER. Of course he didn't look like this in the show since this is the stylish collection manga version (from the defunct Stylish Collection line). Expect his gallery to be up soon.
Oh and Shocker is watching you!
*For the curious Shelob broke his heart which is why he turned to a life a of crime. That's his origin. I know because I just made it up.
Less and less people these days have actual house phones, with the proliferation of cell phones. One alternative to land lines is of course the IP phone, which uses your computer to place outside calls. Now to spice life up a bit Japanese companies KAGA Electronics and Taxan are bringing the mecha-loving citizens of Japan IP Phones themed for Gundam RX-78 and Char's Zaku!
Priced at 5000 yen each, each set includes both a themed headset and the software that sets up the phone and gives you a display simulating the cockpit of the respective mobile suits!
Sadly, being in the US, I'll just have to make due with the Cherry Chocolate cellphone that I customed into Char's Cellphone. Sigh.
When Toho said that they were retiring Godzilla for a at least a decade I didn't really buy it. They've tried that before and well, they always seem to make a return sooner than they always plan. That might be the case here again...
YOSHIMITSU BANNO, director of the underappreciated Godzilla tai Hedorah has been trying to get Godzilla back on the screen for years (yes, that's the movie where Godzilla flew to catch Hedorah in what was one of the greatest moments in cinematic history; right up there with Otisburg). Now it looks like he might finally get his wish.
Are we ready for Godzilla in 3D?! I know I am and I'm also ready for some Kaiju merchandise. I'm ready to be knee deep in vinyl again!
For a great, in-depth article check this out over here.
Here's another video gallery. It's the Enterbay, Game of Death Bruce Lee. I really enjoyed working on this particular one and well, once I had the right music it all came together.
Anyone want to guess which theme it is I have playing in the background?
Anyway thank you for looking and enjoy the kick.... I mean clip!
The word “duh” immediately comes to mind when I hear that Michael Bay’s Transformers took the top spot in the Japanese box office (released there August 4th). Transformer’s has a long and storied history in Japan, mix that with some summer blockbuster filmmaking and you’ve got a recipe for success.
Taking in 631.3 million yen within a couple of days (5.35 million USD) Transformers is doing great in Japan (which I’m glad to see). I’m glad to see it’s doing well in Japan, while it’s not the greatest thing in the history of eyes the way some made it sound like at SDCC – it’s still a damn good time at the movies and honestly I think the movie is a success! Bring on the sequel (or until then the super-duper extended producers/key grip/director’s cut of the movie).
Here’s some some of what VarietyAsiaOnline reports:
The "Transformers" figure is 16% better than the $4.6 million opening weekend for "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (Japan cume: $57.5 million) and 6% better than the $5.07 million of "Mission Impossible III" (Japan cume $43.4 million), both of which bowed in the same summer period.
Looking at the strong early numbers, and the higher than expected female auds, distributor United International Pictures is predicting a $59 million final tally for "Transformers."

Well sort of.. our buddies on Toyskingdom has revealed a pic that appears to be a headshot of the V3 The Next Project BM 1/6 figure. Quality is not great and the pic looks like it was taken with a mobile but hey it's the V3 The Next Medicom! The following info has also been revealed-

With WF coming up this weekend, we can be sure to get some real shots pretty soon! Regardless Toyskingdom Kicks ass and we should all be thankful to get this Sneak Peek at this much anticipated piece!! Hats off to them!!!
Emperor Palpatine is my hero. He's my favorite character in the whole Star Wars Saga. He's the smartest person in the whole thing and he's awesomely evil. He's fun to watch and quite frankly the ultimate example of how evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
Anyway, the uber talented folks at Kotobukiya are at it again and this time with an Emperor vs. Yoda PVC statue. I've seen it in person and it's incredible. There is an annoyingly small amount of merchandise out there for Emperor Palpatine and I'm glad to see Kotobukiya do something for Palpy (you know, the main villain of the whole thing).
We weren't able to take any pictures of him and Yoda but we are able to talk about it. So here is a sketch of what it looks like. You can tell via the incredible artistry shown (eat your heart out Picasso) that this will be an action packed release. Needless to say we will put up a proper picture when one becomes available.
Stay tuned for more...

Fresh from SDCC!! it's an item that We don't normally cover on our site but this piece was just so much the talk of the show that we decided on doing this gallery just for all of you who had the dedication of standing in those violent lines!! The Root of all the Drama of chasing Exclusives at this year's show!! Commander Cody Exclusive Mini Bust Boys and girls!! Quite Possibly the Hottest Event Exclusive item of all of SDCC.
Dreams do come true. This piece is a testament to that.
This may come as a shock to you, but we here at Henshinhobby.com are big, big fans of Kamen Rider. I personally am a huge fan of Kamen Rider Black and his rival, Shadowmoon. We're also big fans of Bandai's famous and influential S.I.C. line (Super Imaginative Chogokin). The second in the S.I.C. HeroSaga line is a "What if?" or "Elseworlds" type of diorama where the shows antagonist Shadowmoon, defeated Kamen Rider Black and became the New Century King.
The diorama itself isn't a new design as it was shown in the pages of Hobby Japan years ago (Not as a sale piece but more for the ongoing S.I.C. story that happens within Hobby Japan). I've been gauking at that design for years and always wanted it. Hong Kong did a custom throne of that scene a few years ago, but it wasn't as elaborate as the S.I.C. HeroSaga one coming out. As you can see below, that thing is huge. I so, will get one but man... shipping on that is going to kill me.
