MEZCO Gallery: "Oh Crap" - Hellboy SDCC Figure

"Oh Crap." Anung Un Rama AKA HELLBOY says that a lot doesn't he? Well I'm pretty sure if I saw a bunch of floating Japanese heads trying to eat I'd be saying the same thing if not worse.

Anyway I have been very impressed by MEZCO (lets just ignore those GHASTLY Underworld figures shall we?) evers since they released the movie line. And even more impressed by their comic line. It's literally like Mike Mignola's art took 3D form. And as a follow up to last years invisible Lobster Johnson we have the Deluxe Hellboy with floating Japanese heads from the famous Hellboy story... HEADS (what you expected a complicated title?). Heads is based off a Japanese folk tale, Nukekubi.

So lets get right down to it! Click on the pic below to access the gallery - good thing for me HB is very photogenic! ^_^

BANDAI Highlight: DX Gatack Zector Commercial

It's really a shame that those awesome DX Henshin Belts don't fit adults. Tragic really. Not that I can wear it to work or anything. They (the office) put up with my Kenshiro figures and Shadowmoon SIC but I don't think they'd appreciate me walking around with a flashing henshin belt. Although that would rule.

Oh well. Enough with the daydreaming.

Anyway here is a short commercial on the Bandai DX Gatack Zector - but oh well, at least it's a good commercial! Even Kagami is in it!

TAKARA Gallery: Superman Returns Microman

Ok I swear to GOD I will have something cool to post on that isn’t Superman related. I’ll post a really cool gallery this week but since its Monday I’ll start you off with a little Superman action. Anyway here is the Takara Superman from their Microman line. It’s based off the one from Superman Returns. As you’d expect it’s fun and posable. It was hard to find one with a clean “S” on his chest as a majority of them have scratches and nicks and what not on them. Still I’m glad I was able to grab a good one.

If there was one difficulty in doing this gallery it was taking the photos. I deleted a lot of blurry images believe me. Still it took a while to get it down to where I got clear and crisp shots of him. Anyway click the image and enjoy the gallery of the Superman Returns Microman.

This statue sold out instantly and has ben very sought after and demanding up to 3-4 times it's retail value in Japan in shops and auction sites. Looking at it anyone can guess why. It's HOT! I'll let the pictures do the talking. Click on the image below to access the gallery

HOT TOYS Gallery: Superman Collector Diorama

Gotta love customs. And when I mean customs I don't mean the cool things like toy customs like those awesome Kamen Rider human heads for the Kamen Rider Medicom. I mean the customs that cruelly holds on to our toys before we can get our grubby hands on them. Yep, talking about good 'old U.S. Customs. Still, I'm glad I got my stuff -even if I should have had it a week ago!

One of the things I'm glad came is the Hot Toys Superman diorama's. They look incredible up close and was surprised by how hard the plastic was. It was easy to put together. It's amazing what a great job Hot Toys did with nailing the likeness of Superman actor Brandon Routh. Honestly it's insane how great these things look yet the more expensive DC Direct stuff doesn't even look half as good. *sigh*

Anyway before I burn a bridge so far high Rao could see it I'll just move on. With that said please feel free to click on the gallery below.

MEGAHOUSE News: Tsukasa's Next Bullet..

With the success Jun Tsukasa has been having drawing hot females, it's no doubt many figure makers will be eager to represent his artwork in Figure form. Almost like an unofficial follow up to the extremely sought after Koyori figure (from Sengoku Cannon) last year Megahouse takes it up a notch with 2 new figures based on Tsukasa Jun's artwork!! Mizuki and Mariko Imai are both based on Artwork from Tsukasa's Illustration book "Tsukasa Bullet", Numbered TB-01 and TB-02 respectively. Both figures are part of the Excellent Model CORE line like Koyori was and both seem to also have Koyori's "special feature" judging from the pics (more on that as soon as pics are available) Man these are sure to be as HOT as Koyori and are a MUST for fans of Tsukasa's work, Let's hope they do more soon!!

Both girls are coming out this November for the price of 5000yen each and will be in 1/8 scale. Only a couple more months til we can add them to our collection. Well for now check them out at the pic below.>

KONAMI News: Kiss of Prince

Konbanwa Minna-san~ Misa Misa desu~ <3

Our new lucky toy featured in our toy news blog is from ever popular series, Tennis no Oujisama!

Konami expands their Popular Figumate Line this Dec/Jan with Tennis no Oujisama (Prince of Tennis) Edition Figumates!!! First up in December is the Special Prince Box XMAS sets, 2 will be available!

Pure White Includes Echizen Ryoma Figumate and Pure Blue Includes Atobe Keigo. Both special Xmas sets will include 8 Bromides, 1 Bromide Display folder, 1 Trading card, 1 Special Present and 1 Figumate. Next up in January will be the Vol.1 POT collection. 5 Figumates to add to your collection! Lineup is a dream for all you POT Fans, Echizen Ryoma, Tezuka Kunimitsu, Fuji Shusuke , Atobe Keigo and Kirihara Akaya. It is unknown whether there will be a Secret figure yet but it is a possiblity.

Personally, I'm quite surprised that the first line up is pretty much all popular characters. Though of course other characters are just as popular, the main three most popular Seigaku is in the first line up as well as, Atobe, quite possibly one of the most popular character next to all the Seigaku regulars. And of course, Kirihara represents one of the three main influential characters from one of the latest storyline's opposing team in Prince of Tennis.

Similiar to Pinky Street or Character Studio series. Figumate is a series of figures that are in stylish SD form. Which means! They have interchangeable parts that you can change their clothing and their accessories with each other! It's kinda like the PVC dress up doll but without cloth clothing. Basically, you can get your Tezuka and Atobe to switch their unfirms and such. If you bought other Figumate figures, you can get MORE outfits for them to wear. o.O;

Xmas special Prince Box sets will be available in DEC for the Price of 2500yen each and the Single Figumates will be available in JAN for the Price of 420yen each or 4200yen for a box of 10. Blindbox rules do apply to the Single Pack figumates -_^

BANDAI Highlight: DX Kabuto Zecter & DX Hyper Zecter Commercial

Seriously the things people put-up on Youtube! Well I got this IM from my friend that had this link on it and well it’s a toy commercial. We don’t really get great (or fun) commercials here in the U.S. but Japan is a whole other ball game. It also happens to be a commercial for the new Hyper Zector from Bandai.

I guess this is a bit of a spoiler but hey consider this your warning.

CG Picture Update - The Last Son Flies Over Hong Kong!

Hey hey! I have my latest CG pic. It's using the Hot Toys Superman flying over Hong Kong while doing a very familiar and classic pose... recognize it? It might look like a mid-air henshin pose but alas it's not. It's an homage to the Superman #1 cover that came out 60 something years ago. I love the pose and use it whenever I can.

What can I say? I love the doll and the movie so expect shameless Superman pimping on this site (hey... is that my mailman bringing me the Takara Superman & Supergirl Microman?!). While Mattel may be releasing mediocre Superman Returns figures the folks from Hong Kong and Japan have picked up the ball and have given us some truly great stuff, with the Medicom's and Kotobukiya PVC statue to come I can say Superman is in good hands.

Now ending Superman pimping mode.

Anyway to view the pic in its full size glory check out the Superman Gallery here.

Today, we have a very special gallery for you. Many Gunslinger Girl fans have been waiting for some nice figures to come out and Good smile Company has granted that wish. Standing in a very cute and innocent pose, Henrietta strolls with a shy glance holding her viola behind her and SIG Sauer P239 handgun. Henrietta is in 1/8 scale and captures the very innocent childlike side of the character and also giving us a glance at the assassin side of the character as well. Distributed in the USA exclusively by AAA Anime for the price of $39.99. This 1/8 scale PVC statue is definelty Highly reccomended by me! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

BANDAI Gallery: Kamen Rider The First DVD Figures

I was really glad to see my shipment from CD Japan arrive at my door. First because I'm a huge Kamen Rider fan (classic and contemporary) and I've been DYING to see Kamen Rider the First. And second of all I wanted the two figures that come with the collector's edition.

The two vinyl figures are Hongo Takeshi and Hayato Ichimangi without their rider helmets -which you could only get if you plopped down the 9800yen to get the collector's edition. It's a very nice looking set here and is a sweet addition to anyone's collection.

MEDICOM Gallery: Black Symbiote Spider-Man

Well this next figure is on the front page for a reason, because he's awesome. I don't know that many people who don't like the Black Symbiote Spider-Man. I love him and I also love his Medicom -honestly whats not to love?

He was released last year but was just recently distributed here in the U.S. by Sideshow Collectibles, which gives those U.S. toy collectors who are unfamiliar with Medicom a chance to see what all the hype is about.
